Why hello there fellow reader! Welcome to RedBird, the brilliant new blog (I created the site, trust me, I'm not biased at all) out there for all you fellow book nerds (take it as a compliment, well done). I'm just a student with a ridiculous amount of spare time on her hands and I figured, hey, maybe I need a hobby. So welcome to said hobby. Now, I don't know a single thing about anything to do with writing a blog at all. So sorry in advance (Hey, don't say I didn't warn you). Though I do know that you're probably supposed to introduce yourself first. That makes sense I guess. So...
I guess I should start off with my name. But names aren't that important are they? Shakespeare knew that, didn't he? "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." See? Not all that important. Plus, I love the mystery. Who is this random person on the internet? Don't ask me, I have absolutely no idea what-so-ever. What else is there to say? Well, my favourite genres are historical fiction and sci-fi (there are many more, I'll literally read any book) (apart from Twilight, never Twilight) I have a very long list of favourite books that I will now sum up into only five. (Let's see how well this goes)
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides (look out for the review soon)
- Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman (look out for a review for this one too!)
- Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children Series by Ransom Riggs
- The Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo
- The Librarian Of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe
- The Book Theif by Markus Zusak
Oh, that's six. Oops. And then, of course, there are the given books such as Harry Potter and Percy Jackson (only the first series though, sorry) and all of those wonderful books. So that makes the list now eight books and this is really starting to get out of hand.
As I'm writing this I'd just like to point out that Grammarly has put a little nerdy emoji next to where I'm writing and I must say I feel slightly offended. Yes, this is so ridiculously nerdy and wonderful but I'd personally like you to keep your opinion out of this GRAMMARLY. Honestly, some robots am I right? (Just kidding, sorry Grammarly. Please keep correcting my work. This would be a mess without you.)
Finally, I guess I should say what I think I'll be writing about on this blog. Well, I'll probably do a lot of reviews, random rants, the occasional theory and some more random rants. You know, only the best for you readers. I should get going now, see you later Bookaholics!
